Our TESOL Courses - New Zealand
Teach International courses are provided in Auckland, New Zealand. Teach International is the original provider of blended learning TESOL courses in New Zealand. Our TESOL training utilises a blended delivery method which combines face-to-face training and convenient online learning.
iTESOL Certificate (120 hours)
The iTESOL Certificate is our introductory online course suitable for teaching English in many countries, community English teaching, and volunteer posts. The iTESOL course includes: an introduction to TESOL component (60hrs), a Grammar unit (20hrs); a Teaching English to Adults unit (20hrs), and a Teaching English to Children unit (20hrs).
We allow twelve (12) month for completion of your course. To estimate how long it will take you, divide the course hours by your average weekly study commitment.

Certificate in TESOL
This certificate is provided on graduation of any one of the three Foundation courses: Foundation TWO, FOUR, or SIX.
Foundation courses are comprised of the core 5-day in-class component of all Teach International certificates, the on-line Grammar course and either TWO, FOUR, or SIX electives. The Certificate in TESOL offers an introduction to the adventure and excitement of teaching English overseas.
Foundation TWO course (100 hours)
Course includes: a Grammar unit and 2 electives,
plus your attendance to a 5 days in-class course
Foundation FOUR course (140 hours)
Course includes: a Grammar unit and 4 electives,
plus your attendance to a 5 days in-class course
Foundation SIX course (180 hours)
Course includes: a Grammar unit and 6 electives,
plus your attendance to a 5 days in-class course

Certificate III in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) - 30873QLD (180 hours)
The Certificate III is our most popular course and is usually requested as the minimum in schools around the world as it covers the major requirements such as prac teaching, accreditation and course matter. This Nationally Recognised Training builds on the components of the Foundation Four course, with the benefit of an additional four (4) hours of organised practice teaching and an auxiliary online unit.

Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) - 30874QLD (310 hours)
This Nationally Recognised course is essential for anyone wanting to work in Australia or for anyone wanting more in-depth knowledge of TESOL teaching. The Certificate IV in TESOL includes the same components as our Certificate III, as well as an additional 130 study hours. It includes six (6) hours of face to face practice teaching, which is two hours more than the Certificate III requirements.
This course is also recommended for anyone wanting to find work in Western Europe, and some schools in parts of Asia will also ask for this level of qualification.

(NB: to teach in Australia, a university degree and teaching experience are also usually required.)

TESOL Refresher:
The TESOL Refresher course provides the opportunity for previous TESOL students to refresh their in-class teaching skills. The Refresher is the 5-day in-class component of the Foundation in TESOL course and includes the latest version of the TESOL manual. The course is designed to recap the in-class skills that have been previously taught and help regain students’ confidence. To be eligible for the TESOL Refresher course, you must be a Teach International student or graduate, or hold an equivalent qualification to the Teach International Certificate IV in Tesol from a different company/institution (evidence of the qualification will be required).
